Legal Support for Employers Hiring Foreign Workers in Bulgaria
Sheyredov Law Firm represents Bulgarian employers hiring third-country nationals — from the first eligibility check, through work and residence permits, single permits, seasonal employment and EU Blue Cards, to employment contracts and inspections. We work in English and Bulgarian and handle the entire procedure before the authorities on your behalf.
How we support your hiring
Preliminary eligibility check
Before any filing we assess whether your candidate qualifies: nationality and visa regime, education and professional experience matched to the position, recognition of diplomas, salary thresholds, quota limits and the labour-market test — so you do not lose weeks on an application that cannot succeed.
Work permit and residence permit
Full handling of the classic route: employment permit before the Employment Agency, type D visa at the consulate and the subsequent long-term residence permit before the Migration Directorate, including all employer declarations, job descriptions and supporting documents.
Single permit for residence and work
Preparation and filing of the single permit application, which combines the right of residence and the right to work in one document — the standard route for most third-country employees, with monitoring of deadlines and responses from the authorities.
Seasonal employment
Registration of seasonal work up to 90 days and seasonal work permits up to 9 months for tourism, agriculture and hospitality employers, including accommodation requirements, declarations and repeat-season procedures.
EU Blue Card and highly qualified employment
Blue Card applications for highly qualified specialists: salary threshold checks, diploma and professional-experience evidence, faster processing, intra-EU mobility and renewal or change of employer during the term.
Family reunification for your employees
Residence permits for spouses and children so your key hires can relocate with their families — document preparation, consular coordination and follow-up before the Migration Directorate.
Employment contracts and employer compliance
Bulgarian-law employment contracts, job descriptions, NRA registration, working-time and pay compliance, posting and secondment rules, terminations, and preparation for inspections by the Labour Inspectorate.
Coordination with the Employment Agency and the Ministry of Interior
We act as your single point of contact before the Employment Agency, the Migration Directorate of the Ministry of Interior, consulates and the municipality, tracking each file and responding to requests for additional documents.
Support for hiring several employees
Batch procedures for employers recruiting multiple foreign workers: planning, standardised document packs, staggered filings within quota limits, timelines per group and regular status reporting to your HR team.
Fees
Initial legal consultation – €50, deductible from subsequent legal fees. After the consultation you receive a written scope, a timeline per employee and a fixed-fee proposal.
