- Divorce by mutual consent based on an agreement covering the children, property and maintenance, or a contested divorce where the court examines the breakdown of the marriage. Mutual consent is normally faster and less costly.
- How is maintenance determined?
- The court takes into account the child's needs and the parents' means, within the statutory minimum framework. The amount can be varied later if circumstances change materially.
- How is matrimonial property divided?
- Assets acquired during the marriage under the statutory regime are in principle jointly owned and divided accordingly, unless a marriage contract or a separate-property regime applies, or a personal contribution is proven.
